Gospel for Asia

gfa.org/offer/freebook

God has been pulling at my heart for the nations over the last few years.  I was introduced to Gospel for Asia about 2 years ago and ordered the free book Revolution in World Missions by K.P. Yohannan, the organization's founder.  Click here for stirring videos from the organization's website and check out ways to support missionaries in Asia.  These missionaries are serving their countrymen as they seek to share the Gospel with the people of their nations.

K.P.'s book gives a heart-wrenching, faith-building, extraordinary account of how he started as a missionary in Asia, moved to the U.S. with his wife, and then began Gospel for Asia at the prompting of the Holy Spirit.  The AMAZING provisions the Lord made for the funds and the man-power are all a testimony to Him alone.

Here are some quotes from the book that really convicted me and encouraged me to pray and to GIVE to help support what they call a "national missionary":

God has not given this superabundance of blessings to...gorge ourselves on books, teaching cassettes and deeper-life conferences.  He has left us on earth to be stewards of these spiritual and material blessings, learning how to share with others and administer our wealth to accomplish the purposes of God (page 86)

True, in many cases, it no longer is possible, for political reasons, for Western missionaries to go overseas, but American believers still have a vital role in helping us in the Two-Thirds World finish the task.  I praise God for the pioneer work done by Hudson Taylor and others like him who were sent by believers at home in the past.  Now, in countries like India, we need instead to send financial and technical support to national evangelists and Bible teachers (pages 80-81).

Most Christians in North America still conceive of missions in terms of blond-haired, blue-eyed white people going to the dark-skinned Two-Thirds World nations.  In reality, all of that changed at the end of World War II when the Western powers lost political and military control of their former colonies (page 78).

The frontline work of missions in Asia has been taken over almost completely by indigenous missionaries...starting hundreds of new churches every week...thousands of people a day are coming to Christ, and...tens of thousands of well-qualified, spiritually able men and women now are ready to start more mission work if we can raise their support (pages 78-79).

To order your own free copy of the book, click here.  I pray that the Lord uses it to stir your heart for missions in your community and abroad.  Get involved in sharing your faith with the people around you and any evangelism that your church is doing!  Or grab a Christian friend who desires to share the message of the Gospel as well and hit the block!
